Le Mardi 8 mars 2022, les élèves de la section européenne se sont déplacés à Dijon pour y voir une pièce de Théâtre en anglais sur le thème de Rosa Parks.
Le nom de la pièce était « Tired of giving in the Rosa PARKS story ». Sur scène, il y avait 4 talentueux comédiens racontant et jouant la vie de Rosa PARKS.
La pièce a duré environ 1h30 et à la fin de celle-ci un temps d’échange s’est effectué entre les élèves et les comédiens.
Tous les élèves ont beaucoup apprécié cette sortie qui leur a permis d’en découvrir plus sur la vie de cette grande dame ayant eu un rôle important dans la ségrégation aux Etats-Unis au 20ème siècle.

On Tuesday the 8th of March, the pupils of the European Section of the Military high school of Autun went to Dijon. They attended a play which is entitled The Rosa Parks Story.
Before watching this play, students worked in class on who Rosa Parks, Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King and Claudette Colvin are.
You probably know Rosa Parks because she is known to be the first woman who refused to give up her seat to a white man, and that was a violation of the city's racial segregation laws. Indeed, she wasn’t the first woman to stand up for blacks’ rights. Claudette Colvin was the one, but she was 15 years old and she was pregnant when she did it. Basically, Dr Martin Luther King was a minister (a religious man) so he disagreed on choosing Claudette because she wasn’t married and she was pregnant. Nine months later Rosa Parks sat in the bus in the white section, and the play tells the famous story.
